Much like Elden Ring‘s collection of Legendary spells, the game’s Legendary weapons are rarely as impressive as you would assume they must be. It’s nice that Elden Ring allows you to turn any weapon into a viable late-game option, but it’s still a little odd that many Legendary weapons are only technically deserving of that impressive distinction. Still, there’s at least one Legendary weapon in the game that has to be on any shortlist of the most powerful Elden Ring weapons regardless of your preferred playstyle. Whatever your interest in Elden Ring‘s Legendary weapons may be, here is where you can find all of them.
Elden Ring: Where to Find Ruins Greatsword
The Ruins Greatsword is an absolutely massive weapon that boasts one of the highest Strength requirements (51 points) in the game. However, because the Ruins Greatsword can reach “S” Strength scaling when fully upgraded, it also happens to be one of the rare weapons that justifies the absurd amount of Strength points you must invest in it. You’ll acquire this sword after completing the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight boss fight in Redmane Castle Plaza. You can trigger that battle before unlocking the Radahn fight, or you can access it after killing Radahn and exhausting Witch-Hunter Jerren’s dialog options.
Elden Ring: Where to Find Eclipse Shotel
This Eclipse Shotel is kind of a tough sell in PvE situations, but this weird little Curved Sword is currently considered to be one of the absolute best PvP weapons in the game. Thanks to a (potentially unintended) interaction with Fire’s Deadly Sin, it’s possible to use this weapon to inflict a steady stream of “Death” damage to your PvP opponents. In other words, you can use this weapon to quickly kill PvP opponents without even swinging it at them. It’s…pretty good. You can find Eclipse Shotel at Castle Sol. It will be sitting near an altar in the southeast part of the castle.
Elden Ring: Where to Find Grafted Blade Greatsword
As we’ve previously discussed, the Grafted Blade Greatsword is a thinly-veiled Game of Thrones reference that can be acquired fairly early in the game and packs quite a punch. You’ll acquire the Grafted Blade Greatsword after beating Leonine Misbegotten in Castle Morne.
Elden Ring: Where to Find the Sword of Night and Flame
I’ve already recommended this weapon a few times, but it’s impossible to oversell its value. This sword’s unique abilities allow you to easily deal with waves of lesser foes or the biggest bosses in the game without having to equip extra gear or swap between spells. While you kind of have to build your character around this weapon to get the most out of it, the results are certainly worth the effort. This is absolutely the best Legendary weapon in the game. You can find this sword near the Manor Lower Level Site of Grace in Caria Manor. Travel to that site, and run across the nearby bridge until you reach a gap that allows you to drop onto a nearby roof. On the other nearby roof is a ladder that will lead you to a chest. The sword is inside that chest.
Elden Ring: Where to Find Marais Executioner’s Sword
This sword looks fantastic, but it sadly suffers from a known Elden Ring bug that prevents it from scaling properly with your Arcane stat. As such, it’s kind of hard to justify running it over so many other options. You’ll acquire this sword after you beat Elemer of the Briar at The Shaded Castle.
Elden Ring: Where to Find Dark Moon Greatsword
Despite the name, the Dark Moon Greatsword is basically the Moonlight Greatsword that we’ve seen in almost every FromSoftware game so far. In fact, this sword’s Weapon Skill allows you to essentially summon the Moonlight Greatsword. This is an odd weapon. It’s certainly powerful, but anyone willing to invest in the Intelligence points this weapon demands will also be able to access abilities and weapons that are far more useful. Still, anyone committed to using this sword for style purposes will certainly be able to overcome some of Elden Ring’s toughest challenges with it. Unfortunately, finding this sword requires you to complete Ranni’s long, and often confusing, questline. I highly recommend consulting this guide if you’re committed to seeing the end of that quest (and unlocking the special ending that comes with it).
Elden Ring: Where to Find Devourer’s Scepter
I really want to love this weapon more than I do. It’s big, it looks great, and it boasts an impressive AOE Weapon Skill that comes with a rare lifesteal effect. Unfortunately, everything else about this weapon proves to be forgettable. The easiest way to grab this Warhammer is to kill Knight Bernahl when he’s in Warmaster’s Shack. If you don’t manage to kill him there before pledging your allegiance to Volcano Manor, you’ll have to wait until you encounter him as an invader in Crumbling Farum Azula. Some players have stated that they needed to exhaust all dialog options with Bernahl before the invader appears in that area, but that might be a glitch.
Elden Ring: Where to Find Golden Order Greatsword
This Greatsword boasts a respectable amount of infused Holy damage and comes equipped with a powerful AOE Weapon Skill that allows you to send out pulsating waves of golden light. Like other Holy weapons, it will also allow you to kill undead enemies the first time around without having to worry about them resurrecting. I actually really like this sword. While there are other Holy damage weapons that arguably have more to offer in the long run, Strength/Faith players are going to love what this weapon has to offer. Its Weapon Skill is also quite useful during PvP battles (if you’re into that kind of thing). To snag this somewhat underrated weapon, you just need to head to the Cave of the Forlorn and beat the Misbegotten Crusader boss who dwells inside.
Elden Ring: Where to Find Bolt of Gransax
The very good news is that the Bolt of Gransax is an incredibly powerful weapon that deals quite a lot of Lightning damage and boasts one of the more useful Weapon Skills in the game. It should be one of the absolute best weapon choices for Faith-based characters looking to focus on Lightning damage. To find the Bolt of Gransax, you’ll need to first defeat Godfrey, First Elden Lord in Leyndell, Royal Capital. After that fight, head out the door found on the Western end of Godfrey’s arena and take the elevator down. Follow the path from here until you reach the giant golden spear stuck in a nearby wall. Walk up that spear, and you’ll eventually run into this item.
